Biography
Aman is a first-year Master of Health Informatics student at the School of Information. She is interested in examining the relationship between social determinants of health (e.g., discrimination) and health outcomes in marginalized communities. Further, Aman is particularly interested in leveraging AI in healthcare technology to address health disparities and promote equitable care.
Aman received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Wayne State University in 2019. Before joining the Health Justice Informatics Lab, Aman worked as a research assistant at the Trauma History Investigation of Neurodevelopment in Kids (THINK) lab, where she examined the impact of discrimination (i.e., racial discrimination and discrimination regarding sexual orientation) on mental health and neurodevelopmental outcomes in youth. Aman is passionate about mental health and is the Co-Founder and Co-Producer of the brainSTEM podcast. The podcast aims to provide evidence-based information about the brain and brain disorders to a broad audience and reduce stigma.
