Biography
Marc McFarlane is a Master of Public Health in General Epidemiology at the University of Michigan’s School of Public Health. Marc received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University in Public Health, and a minor in Health Psychology in 2024.
Prior to joining the Health Justice Informatics Lab, Marc has worked as a student research assistant at Wayne State University: School of Social Work, where he was a part of a CDC-funded project called Promoting Protective Policy (P3) which examined school policies to help create a safe educational environment, along with help develop training and support proper policy implementation. Marc also has experience in advocacy work through the Science Policy Network- Detroit, where he advocated for science-accurate policies both on the state and federal level.
Marc in the future hopes to combine his passion for advocacy and research and become a faculty member, where he wants to research how public policies affect sexual health disease rates in the LGBTQ+ community.
